Today we held the first of hopefully many webinars to introduce some of our Beta Users to what we believe will become the definitive Pro Drupal platform. Video is now available.
We believe Pantheon will change the way you think about developing and running Drupal sites. It's like your Drupal ops dream team. We've built sophisticated development tools + production environments for a lot of large/complex and expensive project, and now we're bringing the benefits of that knowledge out of "the enterprise" and into the wider Drupal public.
We have a complete development toolchain + workflow. We do version control, deployment, automated updates, and soon automated testing. This is on top of what we've been known for: the fastest Drupal run time on the planet, which is still at the heart of what we're doing. All of this was built to be easy to use. You can literally get started in a few minutes.

You know I'm running a Pantheon AMI at Amazon and have been happy with it. Though it took a couple of weeks jumping through some really technical hoops both with Pantheon and learning Amazon's environment (and I have a sysadmin background).
After looking at this, I'm thinking about the possibility of leveraging the platform you have built instead of dicking with it myself.
The main questions I have are:
What is the cost structure going to be like? I'm automatically thinking of whether it would be affordable to just run on the Pantheon platform versus doing my own Amazon administration.
Do you have control panel type tools to migrate to larger instances, configure automatic volume snapshots to S3, restore backups, etc.
What about integration with RDS versus a local MySQL server, or MySQL clustering
Either way, this is exciting stuff for high performance, high availability Drupal.
Congratulations and good luck.
p.s. I watched the video and it sounds like the sound is out of synch in a few places.
