Consider this the planning page for a Drupal 7 Release Party on January 7th. Post your comments about where you think we should have this event and ideas about fun things to do. My suggesting is we all find out what cool new things Drupal 7 has to offer and we give a quick 5 minute mine presentations about that, or we could just socialize. :)

restaurant w/ backroom/projector?
I know a couple of bars or restaurants have projector / back rooms although there would need to be a strict RSVP list (max occupancy). Does anyone know of any good ones? The only one I know of is King Avenue Five, but they're mainly a meat eaters joint. It's a good place to get a burger, brownie sundae, and beer. Their free wireless is limited only to HTTP/S access (probably over port 80 only).
projector/wifi
We don't have to limit ourselves to anywhere in particular. I can get a projector and a 3G wifi AP to use if need be. It is a sprint card, so good sprint signal levels are a must.
Travonna coffee shop
Travonna coffee shop has a meeting room in it www.travonnacoffee.com. It's right on High St and 4th. Anywhere with good vegetarian food though would get my vote. I'm not 100% sure I can make it but I'd like to celebrate Drupal 7, it's been a long time in the making.

While I certainly appreciate whenever a place is veggie-friendly, it's not a deal breaker for me. This is Ohio, I'm used to eating before I go out.

It was because the theater just south of 5th was called the Garden Theater in a previous life. Peewee Herman would have liked it.

I'll be in town Jan 5,6,7. I was going to drive back Fri night but if we're going to celebrate D7 I'll stay one more night!
I like Pat "vwX" Collins' idea of some of us spending 5min on a new D7 feature that we like. I hope we wind up at a venue that can support that kind of interaction. Or as some one suggested, have the "meeting" one place then celebrate afterwards.

I registered us for the meeting from 6-9pm at Travonna Coffe shop. They have an open-mic at 7pm, so it'd be a good place to meet up and then head out to barhop or whatever later.

You missed a good time...
The Drupal Release party was fun.... Doug borrowed a guitar from some guy we don't know and ripped out the Drupal song ( there is video! ). The vegan cake was unusual, but good with the Droplet right on the top. We took pictures with the cake and had fun!

It started around 7
I know...I got there around 6:15pm thinking I was late and there was only 1-2 people. Good to know I wasn't the only one confused. Most of us were there until around 9pm.
It was neat...Travonna is an interesting place. Though I will admit to being a bit disconcerted that you have to enter a security code from your receipt to use the restroom. I never keep receipts.
