Drupal 7 Release Party?

Are there any plans for a TriDUG Drupal 7 Release Party? I didn't see anything on the map:

I'd be happy to get something on the calendar if there's sufficient interest in the group. I've been hesitant to make any kind of announcement given D7's proven track record of trampling on deadlines. :)

Being that Jan 7 is a Friday, say, at the end of the day, (5) is usually quite do-able, especially after the din of Christmas preparation. A Philly Drupal group is merging their holiday "shindig" with this release, so it's less of specific meeting agenda and more of a plain ole' party: http://www.drupal7releaseparty.org/united-states/release-party-zivtech-p....

I might be down for such a thing. The closer it is to Raleigh the more likely I'll come. I haven't yet played with Drupal 7. Even if this is a "party" and less of a meeting it would be cool if someone could demo it.. I just read about the new features on the website linked above and it sounds pretty cool.. being able to edit fields of users and comments and image support built in, these are interesting things. :-)

I did my peon-level part by posting error msgs on DO, and it seems it mattered :)

I know it's not to the standard that many of you participate, but it's what I can give back.
