Hi guys,
This year we will be migrating our existing websites to Drupal. The question now is choosing between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7.With Drupal 7 now out , should we consider using it or should we stay with Drupal 6? One of the major tasks that we needed to do is the migration of legacy data and converting it to Drupal database. I toyed around this before using Table wizard and migrate module in D6 and it kinda work. I know we'll be needing the following modules once we perform our migration : Migrate,Table Wizard, CCK ,Views and Google Maps. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Not now...
We don't even have a stable version of Views yet. If I was you, I will migrate once the very essential modules (Migrate, Table Wizard, Views and Google Maps) I need have a stable D7 modules released.

not recommended yet. wait for the last quarter of the year.
I say go for it
Views and CCK are part of drupal 7 and it is really easier to use. But when I migrated, my host server's simple script did not do it automatically yet. I have to do it in the back-end but it went well.
A lot of this can be done
A lot of this can be done using Aegir as well. When asking this question you need to have a good accounting for all modules you need, themes, etc. Then check to see if they are Stable/Production ready in D7. If not then I would hold off and do it in d6, but have a clear upgrade path into d7 depending on the timeline you need to have the site converted.
If you are looking at fixing
If you are looking at fixing up your site then migrate to d7 and sponsor some development on any modules that you may need, that way they get stable quicker!
