Since there was little to no responses for our last Drupal group meeting for the Olympia area and no messages since (especially for a February meeting), I'm just wondering if we should carry forward with an Olympia-based Drupal Group?

I, for one, enjoyed our evening together. I would hate to see us end it without giving it at least a couple of tries. I know things happen and events like this sometimes take a little care to grow. Bruce

Group Meetings
Hi:
I am new to Drupal and very much would like to attend meetings about building Drupal sites and other information that group meetings can supply.
As people learn more about Drupal I feel the group meeting will start to grow. I do not know where your meeting are help, so if you decide to continue holding them please e-mail me so that I can know where they are being held, and at what time.
Sincerely:

Are there any meetings scheduled?
I am new to Drupal as well. I had a Porland Drupal Group person turn me onto these meetings. She said how active and collaborative the Portland group was. I see this post is old. Was there ever a determination as to whether the group was disbanding or going to continue? It showed there were 38 members, is anyone interested in coming together once a month?
Thanks!
Jen
Olympia Group
As far as I know we met once. There was interest in a second meeting, but it never really happened as far as I know. I for one would love to get together on a monthly basis. I have lots of questions.

Works for me
I am currently meeting with a friend weekly to teach them module and theme development in Drupal.
Lets become more active!
I am also new to Drupal, but have spent much time studying the API and would love to discuss and share code and ideas on development for the CMS.
I propose the following:
A meet would be great to get to know everyone, but it would stimulate the group to be more active if we had a live communication source. This will allow us to chat as we are available, keeping our schedule differences in mind and provide a live source to discuss code and project developments or support and whatever else desired.
To introduce you guys to other sources of live support for developers, I suggest you guys have a look at: http://drupal.org/irc/
I have already taken the measure to create our own group channel #drupal-olympia that I registered on the list at: http://drupal.org/irc/channels
Lets, become more active by meeting each other in chat and then take the next step into discussing establishing a scheduled physical meet.
If you need any assistance with IRC, feel free to post a response to this comment and I will do my best in accordance to my schedule to assist you.
Hope to see you guys in #drupal-olympia!
Cheers,

On the Road Too
I would be interested in meeting in-person too, but I'm on the road Monday through Thursday every week, so I would only be able to meet up would be Fridays (like to keep my weekend's open).
I'm open to meet online but would need to be after "normal" business hours, i.e., 6pm - 9pm at night.
Thanks everyone.

Online for now
Until we can get an agreement on a scheduled physical meet, I am always online as I mostly work on a PC.
As regx mentioned his availability on multiple social media/chat platforms, I am as well available on all of the above. For now regx and I seem to have a pretty good communication established in chat on our #drupal-olympia IRC chat channel.
I would need a 1-2 week heads up on a physical meet to be able to schedule it in my busy calender. I make my own schedule...

I propose a Meetup?
We should probably start off with a simple meetup at a local tavern to make introductions, pick each others brains and what not. An informal meetup would help gauge interest to see what kind of space we would need.
Schedule consideration
I love face 2 face interaction and would love to do a scheduled physical meet, but with my highly busy schedule, I would have to schedule out a meet "down the road". Chatting online is a much quicker way for us to meet "now", for the simple fact that we all spend much time on our PC's, otherwise we wouldn't be speaking on this forum in the first place. ;-)
Google hangout
Google hangout, skype, irc, etc all is good for me.
Didn't mean for that to rhyme.
Social Media/Chat
I am good for all of the above as well. We seem to be doing pretty well in IRC so far. :-P
