Can anyone out there recall who may have initially setup the domain name for FLDRUPALCAMP.ORG? None of this year's camp's organizers can recall and I've tried a few others. We would really like to document this and get control of it so we can easily change the name servers hopefully to Acquia in the future.

I have messaged a few people through GDO (including Joe Moraca) to see if I can turn up any clues. For some reason I remember it being from South Florida somewhere.

If anyone keeps copious email
If anyone keeps copious email records, the domain was set up on 17-Oct-2009 and pointed to the current server on 17-Dec-2009
Maybe look at your email history on or around one of those two dates...
I will keep posting short messages until someone else responds.
Is there a reason why we can't replace the old site with the new?

Oops, sorry Marc. Got on
Oops, sorry Marc.
Got on DreamHost "Live Chat" and asked "Ian" if he could send a message to the domains owner. Gave him my email and phone number... maybe he will get back to us that way.

Maybe Dreamhost can help
You could request that Dreamhost send a reminder to whoever set up the domain. This is quite obviously a .org web site, so they ought to play nice. The NS record has an entry for "Registrant ID:ndn-970097" Perhaps this can be used by Dreamhost to identify which of their accounts the domain belongs to and they could send an email to the user. Private registration being meant to protect someone from being contacted directly shouldn't stop a (hopefully nice) hoster from sending on a legitimate communication in a pinch. Just a thought.
--And I see that's just been tried... Hopefully it works!
Mystery Solved
I got a nice message from Dreamhost. I've already changed the NS records to point to the new servers. I actually purchased it for 3 years in the middle of our CFL meeting last October as my contribution to the cause.
