Unable to save variables in Solar configuration, even after changing variables in database/ cant set path

And other variables. Ive tried disabling varnish and every caching in performance and clearing cache.... using linode and10.0464 with 1.2...

It is probably because the solr path is set in sites/default/pantheon.settings.php which supersedes variables set elsewhere. Either remove the solr path entry in the pantheon.settings.php and set the variable in the database, or change the path directly in the file itself.

I have tried to change the settings to:

/* Apache Solr */
$conf['apachesolr_port'] = '8080';
$conf['apachesolr_path'] = '\default';

and I am unable to connect to the database.... any ideas?
