My special interest in Drupal has always been it's potential as a platform for business applications. The idea of this new group is to have a place to discuss related topics with others, be they business managers and stakeholders or Drupal consultants. A key aspect of the group is that discussion of technical detail will be strongly discouraged (better to do that on drupal.org or elsewhere) so as to maintain focus on high level topics, not bits and bytes.
Yes, I am aware that similar groups exist on groups.drupal.org - but linkedin is, I believe, a more relevant venue in this case.
