I've just started a group on linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Drupal-6-forever-long-term-7460995

Purpose:

For smaller businesses and non-profit organisations, migrating from Drupal 6 to 7 (or 8) would represent a significant investment, quite possibly with little or no tangible benefit. However, Drupal 6 will very soon be unmaintained, meaning no further security updates, bug fixes or enhancements. The same is likely to happen to third party modules.

In addition to this useful group here on Drupal.org, we started up a Drupal Healthcare group on LinkedIn - http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=4717718. This will allow individuals using (or interested in) Drupal for healthcare to connect and collaborate with others doing the same. Lessons learned, best practices, etc.

Has anyone seen good example's of social networking integration on a drupal site?

I am looking at putting Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin on my site and wondering which modules to use. I am hoping to research a few sites that are doing this.

Any suggestions on modules?

Aim: I am looking to start a simple blog on my site and would like Twitter, Facebook and linkedin to broadcast a summary of the blog. I would also like to put Twitter on the website with a view to showing my tweets (not that I have many at all right now), and maybe the tweets of those I follow?

Hello SacDUG'ers,

I wanted to check in and see if anyone had any interest in joining a Linkedin Group for SacDUG. I was going to create one this afternoon and then thought I'd crowd source the idea. Has the group tried this before, is there any reason why not to do it? I'm willing to be the point of contact if noone else wants to do it? I wanted to make sure it was of value to the group before putting it together. Thanks.

Along the lines of the FB group, there's now a LinkedIn group. Probably a bit of cross-over, but it's actually no effort to get all discussions and events into LinkedIn (RSS FTW!) as opposed to the cludgy FB groups.
