Drupal "Evangelization" and awareness initiative

After an amazing Drupal Camp at Austin, I had the opportunity to meet some of the guys from Houston. I talked to talldavid about this and did not get the chance to pick the other members' brain.

This is oriented to people doing business with Drupal in Houston, but that doesn't mean everyone can't give an opinion. It just means that I think this will be treated better as a business opportunity of some sort.

Checking on Houston web designers, in my very limited google search and few\w companies that i have contacted, it is clear that Houston is a Wordpress town.

A partner in webdesign

Hi everyone.
I have been trying to get my head around Drupal for a couple of months now and am finding it rather daunting. Lets say first off I am not a web designer or programmer, I am an entrepreneur and businessman with many interests. I have some commercial websites I want to build and my limited HTML abilities don't translate into what will be needed for these sites.
Now, I could just employ someone but I don't want to do that. Which is why this post is not in Jobs.

Incorporation vs. professional liability/E&O insurance

I think this is a pretty common question. I've done a fair bit of research on the topic but lack experience; perhaps some of you who don't could help me out.

The question is: When a sole proprietor (Drupal Developer) starts doing steady business, should he/she:

  1. Get professional liability insurance?
  2. Incorporate as an S-Corp?
  3. Incorporate as an LLC?
  4. Stay a sole proprietor and just hope his/her contracts are waterproof?

The Vendor Client Relationship In Real World Situations [VIDEO]

We've heard every excuse (and reason) why a client wants us to produce A-Z but can only pay for a portion of A-B-C (if that). This video highlights in a "safe for work" way how lame some people sound trying to compare or belittle work while they themselves are unable to deliver the most important part of a delivery - their payment! Granted this video is so true it may not be funny to you, but it will make you laugh.

Drupal and seamless integration of legacy infrastructure at MBDA.gov

For the record, let me affirm what many here already know, Drupal
truly allows the freedom to produce a scalable, stable and secure
production environment incorporating mission critical legacy
infrastructure. As part of our portal redesign project the basic
requirements included the seemingly insane task of seamlessly
integrating no less than two database formats, two server side coding
languages all within at least 3 major themes all via Drupal. Over a
four week period we worked out all the technical obstacles -- and did
so without any Drupal core module changes of any kind. I wonder if
other developers out there have similar stories of successfully
integrating legacy components into their fully Drupalized web site? I
hope to inspire someone out there with this post!
