Hey all,

I'm a relatively new Drupal user. I've started a community website based on the Drupal platform. I don't really have anything to discuss as far as development as I am just implementing D7, CKEditor, etc, but I'd like to sit in and perhaps learn a few tricks that could help my website gain popularity and grow a userbase in the near future. Some of the things I'm interested in learning about are: custom themes, administration tips, user management and roles, etc.

Thanks guys!

Ok 7pm at Arts Court

Hi folks, I somehow thought this was going to be an after work thing but I'll try to make it (even though it starts later).

Start times

An earlier start time for future meetups could perhaps work better for some; I'm thinking of those with a longer drive home. Let's discuss in person and see if you can overthrow convention.

7pm happens to work better for me.

Hi all,

I have been trying to figure something out for a few days with not so much success... If someone is up for the challenge, I think it could be a good case study for tonight...

Here it is:
I am trying to override an OG group homepage with a panel. The panel would show 3 entities (views).
- First view is the group node (there are 2 different types of them), with a bunch of CCK field. It obviously needs to have arguments to show the right info for the right group. One of my issues with that is that I am using pathauto and would like the link to the group homepages to be the clean URL as opposed to the node ID.
- Second entity is a view of recent blog article for that group, with arguments too. That view is created and seems to work fine.
- Third is a view of recent forum posts for that group. That view also is created and seems to work fine.

Mainly I am having problem figuring out the node template with the arguments for the group nodes...

Modules involved: Views, OG, Panels, OG_panels (or not)

All that is with D6, panels 3, views 2.

What do you think?

I could bring my laptop (PC windows 7), however, I don't know how to hook it up to a projector...

Some of my research lead me to:

and more...

you have the right reference listed; go through the pdf listed here: http://drupal.org/node/553456#comment-2167604

should work; i have done this a few times

the clean url for home page has nothing do with much of this... simply set pathauto as required for your group node.

here is a screen of a current project group home page: http://screencast.com/t/h42sUlSv0X1F

this is panels 3 and views 2 (and og panels although not sure how much this is needed as not what it is really for;although i think as per minus's pdf it is required so maybe adding some small part to this like defining a context for panels??)

main purpose of og panels is to allow group admins to modify the layout of their group's home page... not really for defining a default panels layout for each group.

note the url.
