Greetings expert developers. I've been a drupal hobbyist for about one year and am quite hooked. Recently I decided it would be valuable to enhance my site with the addition of chat room and IM features. After some research and predictable frustrations, I came to the conclusion that going with XMPP might be the best practice for my use case. My site is dedicated to improving world-wide quality of life and promoting peace. It is my understanding there is a sizable learning curve with XMPP. In that context, I would love to engage a dialogue with some knowledgeable XMPP developers and potentially develop a professional partnership of mutual benefit to all.
I'm currently using a linode server, Ubuntu 10.4 LTS, running a sizable list of modules (Panels, OG, apache solr, CCK/Views, GEO, hierarchical select, geo, imagecahe, location, private messages, embedded media, messaging and notifications, nodeque, lightbox2, logintobaggin, quicktabs, realname, skinr, wysiwyg, webform, and of course a few custom modules).
Your time and expertise is of great value to me. Any responses, guidance, or interest would be genuinely appreciated.

Guys, to my understanding,
Guys, to my understanding, XMPP server or platform will be another layer for your management operations, which in some case can become frustrating, if this thing should scale up. And if chats become busy, the server - will bet too. Form me, the most interesting test was made with Meebo Bar: http://www.meebo.com/websites/ And it connects you not only on your site, but beyond. It is a pitty, that Skype is not among their list. This is even more interesting, but didn't find any solution to implement it onsite: https://imo.im/
