Hi Everyone,
Well, we had a very successful and interesting first meeting last Thursday. We talked about our projects, our skills and Drupal goodness like drush and features. There were more developers than themers, and one part time Islander. The Nanaimo Curling Club's boardroom was more than our small group needed for a meet and greet so we relaxed in the lounge with a brew.
The next meeting is tentatively set for March 10, 2011 (the second Thursday). However, maybe some of you lucky drupalistas are going to DrupalCon, in which case I'm jealous, have fun, and we can talk about rescheduling.

Coming, bringing projector, let's talk mobile
I'll be there with a digital projector. Haven't posted up about the first meeting like I'd promised, real life and pressing business repeatedly interfering with my ability to get logged in and typing, perhaps this is why my facebook page is all about my friends and nothing to do with me...but I digress...
Our first meeting was a fun kind of meet and greet, with 3 developers and 1 designer (3 web agency types and one scientist/programmer) meeting in the lobby, quickly viewing the boardroom and its silver screen (wifi in the house!), then retiring to the lounge and discussing Drupal experiences, common interests and possibilities for the group's future. We discussed current and past projects, our Drupal frustrations and joys, and the best day to meet. Generally it was agreed that DrupalCon Chicago notwithstanding we should try the 2nd Thursday of the month and see how that goes. I would like to present a quick review of mobile theming options on Drupal using an interesting set of slides I ran across recently. Not really an expert on this topic by any means, but would like to delve into it with the group. After perhaps the lounge again? Looking forward to it.
