Group Blogging from Democratic Convention

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

I thought some of the folks here might be interested in a project we're working on - it's called Rootswire - http://www.rootswire.org - and is an aggregation of different political and place blogs. Our first big effort is to build a group site for all of the bloggers covering the Democratic convention. The site is up in beta right now (yeah, yeah, I know - it needs a lot of theming love) and we're currently working on the mechanical aspects of it, and getting bloggers on-board. It's all Drupal, and we're using feedapi and the calais module to import the feeds and automatically tag them.

Come on over and take a look - and if you know anyone who is blogging from the Democratic Convention, send them my way.

Do you want to use memetracker?

I'm building a memetracker for Drupal as part of Google Summer of Code: Project page and Group page. A demo site will be up in the next few days so you can see more what it's like but I think Memetracker would be perfect for what you're trying to do. I'd be happy to help you get it set up and running nicely.

Thanks for the kind offer

And you're right, that looks pretty sweet --- but the site is in Drupal 5, and I'm pretty sure it will remain in Drupal 5 until after the convention, at least So I don't think this is an option at the moment.

Steve, which aggregation module/module set are you using?

We're gearing up to host dozens of video bloggers during the DNC with the Colorado Independent Media Center, and we could really use some support in setting up the computer lab. Read more at colorado.indymedia.org or denveropenmedia.org and come stop by any time any day to help us get set up.

Whatever your first issue of concern, media had better be your second, because without change in the media, the chances of progress in your primary area are far less likely. http://denveropenmedia.org
