I was just going over the sessions at Linux Fest Northwest and saw "What is Joomla and why should I consider using it for my web site?".
Introduction
1.) What is Joomla?
2.) What is a CMS?
3.) What is MVC?
4.) What is a framework?
5.) What is a LAMP stack
6.) Demo of Joomla 1.6
7.) Q & A
I was wondering if someone from our group would be interested in doing a session on Drupal.

There were a couple of presentations at last year's linux fest, one was an intro of sorts (like you're describing), the other was Dave Hazel's on setting up an Aegir environment. I was noticing the lack of Drupal sessions in this year's schedule as well, but maybe it's all been covered before.

we need to have an intro to drupal session again, especially with the Joomla one that has been proposed.
Also, I'm setting up an iron cook-off of frameworks. I think a drupal group would be really good to compete in this.
Agree
http://linuxfestnorthwest.org/ is built with Drupal so maybe the person who built it could do a demo of the various bits and how it all fits together. Everyone at the conference will be semi familiar with that site so it would be a good intro to Drupal.

I like the lightness of their theme. Mikey if you're a Seattle local we should definitely at least network in some way. you seem to be one of the more experienced Drupal people in the area. My email is miko@mikosweb.com and I'm on LinkedIn, Biznik and Facebook.

Well I wrote to Emilie and told her I liked the site. Apparently she was the graphic designer.

I'm surprised no big drupal shop has picked her up yet. Shes a brilliant themer and knows a bit about drupal's theming system as well. She'll be at drupalcon though! (So will I)
