Looking for Linux Sys Admin Expert
I'm looking for a Linux Sys Admin expert to help with a review and security audit of a Ubuntu 14.04 server. Ideally you are an expert in Linux / LAMP servers, very comfortable with configuring & maintaining a variety of Apache/Nginx / mysql, etc servers.
This is a short term hourly contract opportunity but with very significant potential upside for the right person.
Ottawa based is ideal but not critical.

Hi all, I am fairly new to Drupal. I am re-designing/developing a website for a homeowners association using Drupal 7 that was originally built using tables. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being clueless and 10 being a Drupal guru), I would say I'm a 3. I don't know Php or Linux. I have some basic HTML and CSS skills.

Develop a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) module that could be implemented into the Drupal CMS platform to allow for two-factor authentication using a Smart Card (SC) or US Government Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) card for verification and access to secure website environments.
There was once sandbox-related activity found here http://drupal.org/sandbox/larquin/1292622 , but it seems to have been abandoned.

This post is not directly Drupal-related, but I am trying to install Ubuntu Linux on an old G4 PowerPC Mac, to use as a Drupal server. I can't get the Mac to see the Ubuntu disc when I try to boot from CD. If you are even semi-knowledgeable about this I would appreciate any guidance you might be able to provide. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm a drupal newbie and not super technical. Working as a part-time web assistant in Manchester and the role is requiring more technical knowledge than I have so would really appreciate some help! Basically the organisations current site has been recently migrated to Drupal and is installed on an old server which is unable to cope with the current basic and user-unfriendly site we have, not to mention the additional functionality I want to install with new modules and themes (lots of other stuff living on the server aswell).

Hi,
Found VPS provider for aegir instalation (up to 15 D6-D7 sites, 1/2 of them corporate brochure type), it will be openVZ with guaranteed 2048Mb RAM, mysql+php+apc+apache+smtp, and other basic services, maybe Apache Solr. Memcahed/Nginx/Varnish is a possibility if performance benefits over simple Boost module+APC are worth pain having another service on same vps.
Which linux to choose from this list:
CentOS 4
CentOS 5
CentOS 6
Debian 4
Debian 5
Debian 6
Fedora 14
Fedora 15
openSUSE 11.3
openSUSE 11.4
Ubuntu 10.04

I created a backup script hosted on Google code. It is written in bash, and IT DOES NOT USE DRUSH....
If you are interested please review.
Some have suggested putting this in as a module. I don't see how that would work, but if I could I would.
