Stephanie (aka stephthegeek) and Chris of TopNotchThemes will be presenting this month, on how to find the right Drupal theme for you. TopNotchThemes has been getting lots of buzz in the Drupal community lately, and I am excited to have them present, especially since Steph will be starting up at the iSchool this fall. You can read more about the two them at http://www.topnotchthemes.com/about
Here is an overview of what they will cover:
- Intro to your options for a Drupal theme: free theme, custom, or modifying what's out there.
- What to look for in a theme: how do I visualize my site in regions and Drupal's building blocks?
- How to spec out or evaluate the quality of an existing theme: browser compatibility, flexibility, attention to detail and overall Drupalness.
BDUG is the Berkeley Drupal Users Group. This group is open to everyone in the area who is interested in learning, teaching or networking about Drupal. We meet monthly on the UC Berkeley campus.
When: Once a month, over lunchtime, on the 4th Thursday of the month.
Where: 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building (290 HMMB), on the UC Berkeley Campus
Directions & Map:
This room is located next to CITRIS headquarters, so you can use these directions: http://www.citris-uc.org/about/visitors/directions
Annotated map of campus: http://drupal.citris-uc.org/files/bdug/large_map.gif
Parking can be a challenge around campus. The closest area to look is around Hearst & Euclid. Also, Hearst Mining is about a 15 minute walk from the downtown Berkeley BART station.

Followup question
Thanks for the great meeting, informative as always. A quick followup question:
The "Hunchbacque" theme (if my notes have it spelled right) was mentioned as a starting point for customization, along with the Zen theme. Could someone post a URL where the theme can be downloaded?
Thanks!
Kalle
