So maybe we should have a DDG in April after all then?

Edit: Oops, I misread the above post. Make mine a +1.

So is this happening and Hello everyone!!

Hi

I was just wondering if a date for this has been decided. Me and my friend are keen to meet and chat with Drupal and Joomla cms developers as we are thinking of using drupal in our project.
I personally have absolutely no knowledge of drupal but have mucked around in php/MySQL for a wee bit. My background is more in scientific computing so it would be nice to meet some experts :)

Kindest Regards
Alex

Suggestions

auberdjinn's picture

Could I suggest Thursday 14th? Personally I can't make it on either of the two Thursdays following that and I'm sure I'll not be the only one bunking off on long weekends.

Even if it's a bit short notice to organise any formal presentations etc. I think it would be good to keep up the regular get-together for general Drupal chat and Q&As.

I'd be happy with either of the two venues we've tried so far but would be equally up for trying somewhere new.

What do you think, folks?

Agree with Catfink

April 14th is fine with me.

Does anyone have a preference for venue? I've been looking at finding a (free) room with proper equipment for presentations but probably not enough time to sort for April.

A semi-formal Q & A to session to kick off would be awesome. Really interesting to hear different perspectives / solutions to a given problem.

@ALEXG10000 If you need Drupal explained, these are definitely the people to do it :)

Venue Suggestion

Hi everyone,

I was speaking to the owner of the Go Slow cafe on Victoria Road, who is a friend, about using the cafe at night for the Drupal meet up. We can get the place to ourselves and it has free broadband. The cafe doesn't sell booze, so it would be BYOB with a fee for using the space at £3 a head. Food will be available too from the normal cafe menu.

Thursday 14th April is unavailble for us to use the cafe, but we can do it on Wednesday 13th April - if we are interested in using the space.

Let me know if you are up for it.

Paul

Ooh, that sounds like a good

Ooh, that sounds like a good place but Wednesdays are not so good for me.

Different Venue on Thursday

Different Venue on Thursday or bring forward to Tuesday?

I'll need to check availability on Tuesday if we decide that way.

Paul

Hmm, I am thinking stick with

Hmm, I am thinking stick with Thursday purely because it's getting close. We could just meet in Mono again since it's pretty quiet and we won't need to book a space or anything? Then we could see what everyone thinks about booking the cafe for next time.

Yeah, lets go with that

Yeah, lets go with that then.

Thursday 14th April in Mono @ 6pm?

Paul

Good for me too

See you all in the West End next Thursday and hopefully the Go Slow Cafe thereafter.

Tis City Centre

@diarmy Mono is on King Street beside the big car park in the centre of the toon.

Blimey!

So it is. I was going to go back to the Goat. Somehow in my mind Mono and the Goat had merged into one. It could be an age thing or it could be due to the amount of booze consumed at the last 2 meets. Please tell me it is the latter.

Thanks, Paul!

First post updated with event details,

I've also had the Idea to have a hashtag for DDG in twitter, oh yes its #DDG , smart eh?

I'd love to attend but I've got far-flug family visiting that day :(

Another Great Night

Thanks for another great night, folks. One or two of you might be mildly interested to know that Mono features in this episode of Taggart called Angel Eyes, under another name. It's about 4.18 minutes from the start.
