Save the Date - DrupalDownunder 2012 - Jan14-15 Melbourne

Hi all,

After the great success of our first DrupalDownunder in January in Brisbane, and the overwhelming support for the idea we should do it all again - DDU2012 is planned for Jan14-15 in Melbourne.

Jan14-15 is the weekend immediately before linux.conf.au which will be in Ballarat (90 mins drive north west of Melbourne).

We're still in pretty early stages of organising so there's not much to tell, but here's the basics.

Venue - Jasper Hotel, near the Queen Vic Market.

It's a small city hotel, with lovely conference facilities. It's a great location and we're really excited we've been able to book in.

Sponsors - Make it happen!

Sponsor information is being prepared - if you can't wait for the package and you're interested in sponsoring DDU2012, please get in touch with me donna at cc.com.au or brian @ realityloop.com - we'd be happy to chat. We have a conservative, break even budget. A lot of the 'cool' stuff we'd like to see happen will only be possible if sponsors commit early to help us make it happen. Things like great conference wide wireless internet access for all delegates, video of all sessions, international keynote speakers. These things all cost big bucks, so sponsorship is the only way we can do it, and keep ticket prices low so the event is accessible to all our Drupalistas.

Website is under way, of course we're using Drupal - and will be opening up the call for sessions and registration in a few months.
