Site Migration FAIL

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I'm attempting to migrate my functioning Drupal site from one host to another. I have tried several different methods (importing the database, then loading the files; using their Drupal install and then loading my database; cursing at the computer) and all have given me different error messages that seem to be at the database level. I have changed sites/default/settings.php to reflect the new database information. The error seems to always come from something called the lock.ini file. I've looked around online and talked with the new hosting company for a bit, but have not had any luck. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for troubleshooting this issue. Or if anyone has had a similar issue and has some insight, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm moving from Webenabled to Bluehost. Not sure what the server is... the database is MySQL through phpMyAdmin. I'm not sure if that helps...

I moved a Drupal site from 1&1 to BlueHost and I had to ask customer services for help. It was something dealing with the uh... crap. Anyways, they got it fixed overnight for me.

Have a URL or error message

Have a URL or error message we can take a look at? It's hard to tell without an error message. It could be due to a difference in the version of MySQL or PHP your new host is running. I would look into what your old host had and what your new host has (specifically running on the servers you've been on). Depending on what version of Drupal you are using depends on what versions of MySQL and PHP it plays nicely with.

I don't have the error

I don't have the error message anymore, but Bluehost support said that I had the incorrect table prefix in the public_html/sites/default/settings.php file. I'm not sure what that means and I totally double checked the database info in there like five times, but they fixed it for me (YAY!) so the site is up now. I really appreciate the tips and help from this group!! Without it, I'd be like a child wondering into the middle of a movie and has no frame of reference :)

Hey Doug & RJ! Nice to see 2 of my best non-Montanan Drupal buddies jumping in to help one of my recent Drupal students here in Missoula. You guys rock!

Trista: Glad you got it sorted, feel free to get in touch directly if you have any more issues, I can probably help.
