Organic Groups seems like an incredibly powerful set of tools. However, there doesn't seem to be a description the underlying concepts, philosophy, use models, limitations, ...
If one exists then I apologize. I am pretty new to the world of Drupal. Coming up to speed has been challenging.
I would like to help pull this together. But I need folks to provide me with the input. For me, it would definitely help with my education. But I also hope it will help other people.
Is anyone interested in helping with this?

I'll help
While it would be the blind leading the blind, I am interested and willing to help.
Cool... now all we need is a white stick.
I'll wait a day or two and see who pops up. I have found it very frustrating. It's clear people have put a lot of time and effort into Drupal. But there is virtually no documentation for most of it.
Today's question that has me totally scratching my head. What's the difference between a "OG Membership Type" and an "OG Role". When would I use each of them?
For me og is the quickest way
For me og is the quickest way to give a client a site with the equivalent of sub sites. A use example I am working on is a school website with distinct private sections for each class, and also for the board of governors. By being on the group main page and clicking on add article, links the new article to that group and also inherits the groupls content visibility settings. Without this you would have to rely on users to remember to link to the group and to mark it public or private (and we know how fast that would go wrong!)
D7 og likes to be used with panels which is a new area to learn but there is already some good tutorials to get started.
I am still learning what it can do but if you wish to poke around go to

I look forward to further contributions
I have been working on it but need help!
I currently have the ticket open (and am working on it) http://drupal.org/node/1114818
I need help. I am also having a tough time learning OG so its hard to write about it.
