I am building a site that will be a directory -- think yellow pages. So there will be tons of CCK fields, and content types to boot.
There will be quite a few categories (each a content type) with several CCK fields each. Pretty much need CCK Permissions enabled.
But, I am dreading paging through hundreds of user permissions and, worse, scrolling through a mess of fields when building the many Views.
Wondering if anyone has stumbled upon any other tools for making this management easier.

P.S. -- Fast Permissions
P.S. -- Fast Permissions doesn't seem to allow for structural organization of permissions, only search field. I'd love something that has similar control of CCK Group Field, that is also collapsible. That would help for permissions.
As for Views field organizations, I'm really stumped.
CCK Field Permissions
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've found the Field Permissions module to useful. It is located at http://drupal.org/project/field_permissions
It allows you to specify which CCK fields should be managed in admin/user/permissions. The module more or less defaults all CCK fields to be viewable and editable be everyone unless you specify you want to manage things in a more granular fashion. Of course, the node module permissions take precedence. If you've restricted view or edit permissions for a whole node, Field Permissions will respect that and not expose the fields.
Hope this helps with the permissions side of things.
