First Ithaca meetup date?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

So when should we have our first meeting?

I was thinking of the first week in June. Either on the Thursday night or Saturday during the day? Which do people think would have a better turnout?

I was thinking of having it at the Public Library.

What do you think?

I just sent something out to

I just sent something out to all the web people at Cornell, so should be a new batch of users inbound soon. Would probably make sense to give it a couple days so we can get those new members' input.

Thanks for starting an Ithaca Drupal Users group. I ought to be able to make a meeting for the first week in June. I suspect that there will be a few other people from Cornell University Libraries joining the group as we have several library websites based on Drupal. Thursday evenings for meetings would work better for me.

BTW, in a couple of weeks I'll be in DC meeting with some of the developers from development seed (creators of the Feeds module, among other things).

DC

fereira, thanks for the feedback. Development Seed does good work. The Feeds module has saved me a ton of work. I actually thinking about going down to the CapitalCamp down there in July. Probably submit a presentation idea but not sure on what yet.

spinetree, thanks for doing that. Yeah I just thought I would get the ball rolling with the question. We don't have to figure this out right away.

smedina269's picture

I cannot do it on Thursday, Friday or Saturday! Can we try Wednesday maybe?

Wednesday

tedbow's picture

smedina269, I am not sure if I will be able to do Wednesdays this summer. I should know soon. But we should be probably give people a day or 2 to find this group and post. Then we can find out what is good for most people.

I think we are trying to have meeting somewhere in Ithaca. Albany is 3hours away.

I just posted this in the WNY and Albany groups b/c the Ithaca group was just started. I thought people in Ithaca might have been monitoring the near by groups.

Meeting at Mann Library

tedbow's picture

We may be able to meet at the Mann Library on Cornell campus. It sounds like the meeting rooms would be great. The only problem that I see is the limited hours during the summer.

http://www.mannlib.cornell.edu/hours

We would have to meet when the library is open. So it seems like we would have finish before 6pm if we met Monday to Thursday. It is also up 1pm to 5pm on Saturday. Of course the hours are extended during the Fall.

I work as a contractor from home so my hours are very flexible. What do you guys think?

Any other meeting place ideas?
