Anyone have/read "Drupal 7 Module Development" by Butcher, et al and can recommend it?
The Amazon reviews look good, but only 8 and it's rather new (December 2010).
Curious if it's a good $40 investment, beyond what I can get in for example the "Pro Drupal 7 Development" book.

You might try Safari Online
I used to spend a lot on manuals until I found O'Reilly's Safari Books Online ( www.safaribooksonline.com ). It's a subscription service that allows you to access just about any technical book online. There is also a "token" system where you get 5 free tokens a month (can buy more)that allows you download book chapters as PDF files. This has let me greatly expand my "reference library" by using Tokens to download things I use a log and have reference books on topics I need, when I need them.
I figure that the subscription cost is covered by the books I don't buy, especially when you're learning new Drupal stuff and may want to see a wide range of books... YMMV.
