I am a novice at Drupal. I have a non-profit, geezergallery.com, that is not showing up when searched for with google or bing. The site has a blog module which is always found. The problem is that the main site is not. Any ideas on how to help these folks out?

Try signing up for an account with Google's Webmaster Tools, then submit the site to Google's index. It's not a guaranteed success but it won't hurt.

SSL?

I notice your site is only available via https. Google can index sites that are https only but it looks like some other people have had trouble in this regard. (http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=64096b0ef898...) You might try making the public parts of your site accessible via plain http and see if that helps.

XML sitemap, nodewords, and a keyword taxonomy

Good call Michael,

I would install secure pages module to only have the admin, login, and maybe the donation pages (though it doesn't look like you are using a payment processor). Then considering installing the robot.txt module, xml sitemap, and nodewords modules. I glanced at your keywords, you may want to leverage nodewords better so it populates your keywords based on the contents of each page. Also most of your pages are images and not content, and almost none of the images have alt or title attributes (making this totally ignored by the search engines). If you are really serious you may want to install the following modules and run it against your site/content.

Best of luck.
