well, maybe we should put a block there saying "Filipino Drupal Showcase" or whatever name you might want to call it.. hahha..
Noted. (paging jeff)
I remember we posted a thread dati (early days of the Phil Drupal Users Group (PhilDRUG), asking people to submit a showcase of Filipino websites in Drupal. I did a quick search, pero wala na siya. We can start another thread again.
Jeff, can you make us one na sticky?

Let's invite them
I saw bulatlat.com dati but didn't think it was ABS-CBN. Good choice, ABS! If anyone has contact with them, paki-invite sa ating users group!
Btw, in contrast, GMA developed its own CMS and insists on using it. As a former blogger in that network, I can guarantee that the CMS sucked, big time. They should have shifted to Drupal, but there's a lot of politics involved.

Supporting Local Drupal Sites
Hi everyone,
I'm surprised this wasn't more common knowledge in the community. I knew this (and me not yet a full Drupal developer), a day or two before the Drupal (and Joomla) Day.
Unfortunately, the reason I knew this is because it apparently went down / crashed a day or two before Drupal/Joomla day.
Therefore I propose that we use that list of local Drupal sites - we should all visit and check them regularly (and maybe offer aid)! At the very least, strong community support encourage more folks to use Drupal. We can't eliminate these downtimes and bugs, but we can reduce their exposure.
Drupal and PHP
What are the things that Php can do that Drupal can't? aside from their obvious difference being Drupal as CMS and PHP as ______, what can a newbie and a developer choose among the two?
In my own little
In my own little understanding, I don't think we could make a direct heads-on comparison between Drupal & PHP. As in the analogy of building a home, PHP would be likened to the raw materials; the nails, lumber, cement, paint, etc.... while Drupal could be the prefabricated posts/walls/floors, ready-made kitchens, DIY homekits, etc. The ways are different too; with the former you would probably frequent the hardware/lumber store whereas with the later you'd go direct to the homebuilder's depot. In fact, Drupal mostly have PHP as its main ingredient.
If you're a hardcore (PHP) developer you'll probably prefer to build your own from scratch & therefore use PHP, but for most non-core devs & even some hardcore, will go the Drupal way. Of course a little bit of PHP or scripting would always come handy, just like the DIY guy in the above example tinkers with nails, paints & screws from time to time too.
P.S. And this thread deserves to be in its own topic.
