Learn about Drupal and meet local Drupal enthusiasts. We meet from 6 pm until 7:30 pm, then reserve the last half-hour for proper socializing, snacking, and further discussion at a local pub. There are a few new places that have opened up in the area, we'll decide where to go closer to the event.
Coworking will be a block away at Moka Coffee around 3:30pm.
Agenda
- Brief One Breath introductions
- Drupal Barn Raising Recap: On June 11 and 12 the Seattle Barnraising takes/took place. See this post for more details. We will spend a large chunk of our meeting talking about the site, looking it over and sprinting on it if need be.
If you want to add items to the agenda, please leave a comment, and be specific about what your agenda item is, what your lightening talk is, or what you would like to have a breakout session about.

don't miss out...
We will be doing a recap of the excellent Barn Raising that happened last weekend. Be there or be square...

Hope to make it this month
I could talk about a lot of different subjects; but one of the more interesting ones has to do with optimizing views queries. You can read the discussion here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/154564 and a module that was released as a result of this: http://drupal.org/sandbox/Fabianx/1184598. I was able to get a 10x improvement in the views query time.
Also to update people on the module I talked about last time I was there; AdvAgg is VERY close to a 1.0 release http://drupal.org/project/advagg. If all goes to plan I should have a 1.0 out by Friday.
The Barn-Raising was a fantastic event!
The Barn-Raising was a fantastic event! Thanks especial to all the advanced planning and coordination by the Barn-Raising Team. Well done!
It seemed like everyone who attended enjoyed the experience and learned something new about D7 during the process.
It would be very helpful to capture this recap to complete the documentation of the group's work. Prior to the event all meeting notes and most pre-planning work was captured and is available under the Drupal Kata (the project learning arm of the DOLI -Drupal Open Learning Initiative) See: http://drupalkata.com/sgs/home.
I have exchanged emails with a few of the volunteers about repeating this wrap-up discussion in a DrupalDojo webinar and there is interest; however, the logistics of pulling this group together may be difficult. So, I'm wondering...
Would anyone be willing to help document the recap presentation/discussion during this DUG meeting? Unfortunately, I have a conflict with family graduation activities and can not be there. I am hoping that someone would be willing to step-up and produce a screencast of the walk-through / Barn-raising re-cap. It would be nice to have someone video tape this portion of the meeting, but more important than the faces of the many volunteers behind the effort, are the screens shots and show-and-tell of what was accomplished, along with the discussion of the experience, key take-a-ways and lessons learned by each team.
If someone is willing, preferably with their own gear, that would be fantastic. I can provide suggestions, guidance, supplemental equipment and post production/editing, publishing to the Dojo. Please contact me eric_sea. Thank you.
D6 -> D7 if using features
In terms of upgrading to D7 if using features; there is a "related" post about this: http://groups.drupal.org/node/156124#comment-523344 talks about http://drupal.org/project/briefcase as a solution for setting code config into the database.
