D7 Commerce Catalog woes

I'm creating a Commerce site in D7. I'm having trouble figuring out how to make the products I've created show up! I can't even get it to show up in the menu. The documentation in Commerce has been helpful up to this point. I'm just not getting it. Has anyone out there done a D7 Commerce site yet who could help me?

Here is what I've done so far:
Created a content type called Book. Created a couple taxonomy vocabularies, added the terms
Created a product type called Book
Added the fields
Added two "Term reference" fields for the taxonomy fields
Added some Books in for testing.

NOW... how to get them to display? How to get the catalog to show up in the menu, and display the books?
It seems that I need to create another content type called "Display book"? This is where I got lost. I do not understand.
