OT (kinda): Volunteer webmaster for COSSFEST?

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Apologies if this post is not relevant to the group....

The Calgary Open Source Systems Festival (COSSFEST) is under active planning for an April/May 2009 event. We have the start of a new website in place at http://www.cossfest.ca. We are looking for someone with better graphic design skills than myself, and with enough spare time to bring this site to life. There are a few things we'd like the site to do that I have no experience with (online paid registration, etc).

If you have heard of the Ohio LinuxFest, the Toronto LinuxFest, or the NorthWest LinuxFest, we are aiming COSSFEST to be similar in purpose. This will be the 3rd such event we've thrown, and we have grown every year. This year will see more growth in terms of the number of attendees, and the types of events/topics being covered.

In the not too distant future, we will be issuing a call for sponsors and speakers. Drupal and Drupal related topics fit nicely into the theme of "Open Source in Business". So, I'd also like to use this post as a "heads up" for interested parties.

If you would like to know more or would like to volunteer to be our webmaster, please contact me off-list at sgrover@cossfest.ca. Thank you.

I think the site looks fine.

I think the site looks fine. You can use something like eventbrite for the registration and payment. I've used it a few times, it makes things easier. http://www.eventbrite.com/
