User group meeting

I've been asked to give a talk about Drupal at the next Des Moines Web Geeks meeting on Monday, October 20th. I'll talk a little about my experience implementing the Cowles Library web site and then lead an open discussion.

It would be great to have a strong Drupal community showing. There are a lot of Wordpress and Joomla fans in the crowd. :)

It's an interesting group of people meeting in a very cool coworking space. Hope you all can make it. Sign-up at Upcoming.org.

So you missed Scott... but not the geeks!

So Scott gave a great talk at Web Geeks and we all loved hearing it! There's a push in the new year to get a lot more speakers lined up, and I would especially like to have some more Drupal discussions.

Here's the site for DSM web geeks: http://www.dsmwebgeeks.com/

You can sign up to talk or just find out when the next meeting is. They meet twice a month; once for a presentation and once for an informal sort of work night where everybody just kind of discusses what they're working on and gets in touch with other web people. Which is way cool if you've ran into a wall with something and just want someone else's angle on how to go about approaching the problem.

It would be awesome to have the informal "talk about your projects" night with lots of Drupal-ers along with design and info architect people that are at WebGeeks anyway. So yeah! Please come by sometime! It would be awesome! :)
