Content improvements on d.o. and setting priorities

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Without a doubt, there is a lot of content improvements that need to be made to drupal.org, e.g.

  • node cleanup based on feedback from the audit
  • updating the landing pages e.g. the About page
  • the eventual migration of showcase/case studies to new content type
  • Community spotlights

Feedback on the Content Overview is appreciated too : http://groups.drupal.org/node/144984

What do you need to contribute?

Since this type of work is volunteer based, tell me what you need in order to get involved/contribute to content improvements. Clearer instructions? A nudge in the right direction? To be empowered to make more changes yourself?

What should our priorities be?

What the top things we, as a community, should fix first? There's enough work here for several full time staff, but it's going to be part time volunteers, so breaking the work down into small, achievable tasks is essential.

Usability testing drupal.org

Conducting usability testing with people from various backgrounds (and different goals for using drupal.org) could be a great idea. Is anyone else interested in leading this?

Thanks, your input is appreciated.

I've broken up the content work into each of the books and created an issue in the Webmaster queue.

Additional books will be added for cleanup, once the trial on the Reference book is done and it feels like this is the right approach.
