Hi Guys!
I'm amazed about Beijing, China more and more (knowing and hearing from Jacob) that I want to participate someday soon.
Let me start by asking the group for suggestions regarding a Drupal logo (or Icon) which I can do for you, according to your preference, and most importantly... open source.
If it's not that much, give me a hint on the following:
1) Are there significant symbols (landmark, sign, image, figure, word) that would best depict Beijing that you think would look good for this group?
2) If you want to associate it with the Druplicon, how do you want it to look like?
3) Would you want to print it (on shirts, caps, etc.) in the future?
4) I use inkscape and the output is in SVG. What format do you prefer it to be shared with?
This is actually my first post in this group. I reside in the Philippines (I'm Asian too). I contribute Drupal art and most of all, I help promote Open Source/Drupal here in my country and in other Asian countries in the best way I can.
Looking forward to your thoughts,
谢谢,
Marc Robinsone

Cool!
Welcome to Beijing, Marc.
The conventional affiliation of Beijing are clearly the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and TianAnMen Square. Unfortunately, I am not much an artist, so I couldn't be more creative. So I guess this more of a shout-out, than suggestion!
informative
Thanks John.
I will consider these landmarks. I would try to vectorize them however I'm still looking forward to the other group member's suggestions.

2008 Olympic Game will be a good choice.

You are welcome to use the logo also....altho I suspect I no longer have the raw logo file - but whatever - its not very exciting anyway - it was a quickie rush job...
Cheers,
Ilsa~
