I've been sneaking in Open
I've been sneaking in Open Source Software into my organization, but doing anything that treads on the ground of the beloved BlackBoard is a no-no.
I have been doing my part to enlighten others to Drupal's ability. I was the Drupal advocate in the meeting with two Wordpress guys.
... I probably should have announced that I was giving this talk on this group page...

Nice to hear there is a little open source "black ops" going on at work. Love it! ha. Always great to have another Drupal advocate out there!
cost factor
Ditto on the cost. I purchased the lullabot understanding drupal video, but was disappointed there were no actual demos. I don't regret the purchase, because I see it as giving back a little for the great podcasts the team does. So my fear is that it won't have the coding demos, that I'd really like to see although it appears in the schedule. I'm still rebuilding this house (although almost there), but I'd be all over it like red beans on rice if I had the means. I actually pitched several clients on using drupal a couple weeks ago, hoping I could justify the business expense. It sucks ya'll will be here and I can't go, but maybe next time. Keep up the great work!

check out the link above as I thought you guys might be interested in some chatter about Drupal in the education system... (although I have no idea what you two are involved in! :) Always fun to listen to a new podcast for ideas. One other thing you might consider is a new book we've got coming out from O'Reilly in December... I think it may have a lot of practical ideas for you in differing scenarios using drupal!

This seems fun, spent alot of time going over the original article and would love a chance to talk to the authors. Ended up doing a lot of little tricks to make weekly editions open to schedule and preview on a radio site, would love to dig into the nitty gritty of their system.

Looks pretty good. I have put out one OG social network site, but always wondered how much custom code you would want to run if you were really expecting 2000+ people to access a site logged in. Reviews I have read say you need to go multi server really early in the process.

Yeah, I guess I work with small-fry non-profits, still too steep. I should probably stop volunteering so much. But that has been one of the blessings of Drupal, the ability to put so much functionality in the hands of little groups here in New Orleans.
Especially interested in "Angie Byron & James Walker - Multisite Architecture" , several of us are volunteering to put together the install and implementation for >12 existing indymedia groups from the nation/world into Drupal, and at this stage it I spend a fair amount of time pondering my way around, hoping to avoid semi-irreparable structure mistakes at this server dev stage. The OG session would be great too, I put together the http://www.transformaprojects.org/projects using OG (full disclosure - not fully volunteer, just heavily discounted), and would love to hear how it is really supposed to be done :-)
I look forward to any of the presentations making it to video, I looked on the website and didn't see any mention of video rebroadcast, do you know if the seminar will be available post event? Stream, DVD for sale?
