Help!

I don't know but I am in the same basic boat. Not sure where and how to get started, just knowing I want to. :)

I know to start a group, after you have signed in with drupal.drupal.org/your current group go to the top right you should see tabs that say:
My Account, Recent, Jobs, Groups, Events, Log Out.

If you go to Groups it allows you to start a new one or search for existing ones that might match your interests. Just as if you notice at the top of this thread aljayespartero is part of the group: real estate.

Once you get inside a group it gives you the options (on top right) to create:
Poll, Event, Job, Discussion, Wiki Page, Invite friends, how many members are in the group, and info on your own membership - such as giving you the option of leaving the group.

I know if you go to drupal.org main page there is more info and it is searchable, but I personally find it really daunting unless you have major programming experience behind you.

If you have the chance, take advantage of going to any of the closest Drupal Camps, group meetings, trainings, for networking and finding mentors. There are a few people that kinda come across as too self-important but I think it is more a matter of just being swamped. When you see them with equals their whole persona changes. Because as a whole Drupal participants are very open and willing to share what they know as long as you have the same philosophy. But as all other people in general, none of us want to be taken for granted. :)

I haven't needed to start a post, threat, or topic yet. So far I too have only responded. I guess we will learn together. :)
