Hi,

I started a forum post, but I'm in urgent, so, I'm seeking your help! And I'm humbly requesting you to help me please:

I'm new to Drupal. But after a long personal research, I heard or found that Drupal is best CMS in the world! I'm still in starting level in Drupal, when I see its admin panel, wow! I was amazed! I have experienced many CMSes, but no one is like it!

I planned to jump to all my sites to Drupal. Now, I want to know this:

My mobile site's visitors are using various mobiles (nokia, LG, samsung, sony ericson, blackberry, iphone, and ipad). Half of them have medium/low class mobile phones with minimum web browsing features. My blog-like site is for local news, has 7 sections.

So, My questions are:

1.) Drupal works on all of them?

2.) Do I need any additional plugins for work with them?

3.) Which Theme is best for them?

I'm waiting for your advices, suggestions, anything I might to know. Please help me!

Thanks in advance.

Hey Adam, The themes

lewisnyman's picture

Hey Adam,

  1. The themes provided in Drupal Seven are not mobile friendly. This is something we are working on for Drupal 8. You probably want to load a low cost mobile friendly theme just for mobile devices.

  2. You want to check out Mobile Tools to do this.

  3. There are several mobile friendly themes in contrib, take a look at Nokia Mobile Theme

Thanks a lot!

UI problem for my mobile compatable drupal site

Naren Suri's picture

i'm new to the drupal, have designed a small cms and wanna move that on to mobile devices. Using MobileTools module and themes iam sucessfully able to push my site on to the iphone. But here comes the problem UI, the site is not fitting to the screen of my mobile and i want this as user can understand what the page is about and he can zoom in/out later according to his requirements.

please give me a thought and show the direction to solve this. Do i need to develop my own theme for this which suits the iphone screen? like wise a new theme for every mobile? please help me.. if possible please suggest me an article which could help me in solving this UI issue.

Thanks in advance.

You do need to have a theme

You do need to have a theme that is optimised for mobile. A single column fluid width theme is a good start. I have posted some contrib theme above.
