Profile + panels + tabs

Hello,
I'd like to have a fairly complicated profile. I'd like to combine the advanced profile kit's panels with nodeprofile, and have this linked to the user account. Basically, I want 4 things:
1. When users go to www.example.com/profiles/member-name, it brings up member-name's public profile, which of course is in a panel page.
2. When users go to www.example.com/users/uid, it shows the user account info (with all the normal items other modules add to it, e.g. newsletters' My subscriptions list, Kudos' points listing, Invite's list of invitees, etc.) However, this is only viewable if the current user = uid, or admin. At this point, I don't think I want this information on the normal profile page.
3. The above are in tabs for current user=uid. So, if I click on 'My Account', it goes to a page that has the following tabs:

|Profile|Account|Edit Account|Edit Profilepiece1|Edit Profilepiece2|etc.|

Focus is on the Account tab.

  1. Other elements appear on tabs when user goes to ../profiles/member-name. Eg.

|Profile|Blog|Buddy list|Guest Book|Etc.|

Of course, each tab holds related info for the corresponding element. The edit Profilepiece1,2,etc. are already added by APK. I can't get the Profile panel itself to be one of the tabs, nor find a way to have account info show up on a path separate from the rest of the profile. Could someone please start me in the right direction? I've been searching, but can't even find docs on getting multiple tabs on panels.
