Our group differs in scope, being broader.

Existing Modules

Using Drupal to manage resources is a haphazard process. The most popular technique is a "module mashup" of events, CCK, Views, Calendar, Taxonomy, and other high-power mods to build a custom data structure, display, check-out and reminder system.

There have also been major modules that attempted a single solution, but most have fallen short, or died-on-the-vine. A few specialized mods exist—many duplicating functionality, patching other mods, or depending on other, neglected mods. This is too confusing and frustrating to continue.

We hope to bring a little discipline and coordination to this effort and create one or more powerhouse mods, like CCK and Views, which augment the Core and support other, more specialized mods and installation profiles.
