In this all-day workshop, top experts with years of front-line experience building large-scale Drupal deployments show you the best known practices for running fast sites for a large volume of users. Starting with a blank Linux virtual server, we will work through the setup, configuration and tuning of Drupal using Varnish, Pressflow, Apache, MySQL, Memcache and Apache Solr.
Through this process, we will explain common pitfalls and how to avoid them. By the end of this course you should feel comfortable with the basics of how to setup, configure and tune your Drupal site. You’ll learn the most robust solutions the community has discovered.

RSVP? Free?
This looks like a great training.
I'm thinking about driving in from Phoenix for it and just wondering if I need to RSVP and if the training is free?
Thanks.

Why not do it the "Drupal" way...
...and offer this wonderful topic (Drupal Scalability and Performance) workshop for free at the Friday training sessions at Badcamp on October 21?
Isn't it the "Drupal" way to contribute expertise? And where better than at Badcamp?
We definitely contribute
We definitely contribute to our community, and our training assistance program is part of that effort. In addition to supporting students, unemployed job seekers and people in need, we regularly offer seats to our upcoming trainings to LA Drupal meetup organizers to raffle off at the events.
At this rate, by year's end we'll have given away $10,000 of free training in the form of scholarships and seats we've raffled off at meetups.
That said, we did consider offering a free training at BADCamp. Exaltation of Larks is a contributing sponsor at BADCamp this year and we've actually paid for the privilege to offer a free training. Unfortunately, most of us are already attending the Core Dev Summit that's scheduled for the same day.
Thanks for the response
Appreciate the response -- as usual I'm "out of the loop" in Drupal goings-on.
Now I know why there's so few offerings for Friday's training. I guess I'll just have to go explore Tahoe on Friday instead of learning more Drupal.
Anyway, looking forward to a wonderful Badcamp.
