Hey everyone!
I'm starting a Drupal Users Group at UF. We'll replicate the success of GatorLUG, and also offer more workshops and panel discussions/Q&A. I'd like to have a meeting either the second or third week in this upcoming Spring 09. I'm looking for Drupal enthusiasts and participants who would like to get this group off the ground. We'll need to register the organization at the students' union (I'll take care of this) and get the word out (I'd like to make a flyer that can be posted on the school billboards).
If you have any thoughts on running the club or you'd like to get involved, please comment or email me. Please include your current status at UF (student/staff/etc), what you're studying/teaching/doing in Gainesville, and how you would like to participate in the group.

As mentioned in my earlier post, I'm a staff member at UF as well as an alum (MBA 2004).
I'm currently an IT Manager responsible for the support of the ERP (Oracle/PeopleSoft) systems at the University. I also founded the Trizm Puzzle Company, which publishes puzzle books and has a drupal website (www.trizmpuzzle.com) for playing/printing/learning about the puzzles.
I'm interested in getting involved with the club in anyway possible. I have both a strong management/project management background as well as many years of application development experience (although not much in drupal ... yet).

I help organize and teach the central Florida meetups - I'd be happy to head up to Gainesville if/when the timing it right to help teach a topic or anything you might need help with.

I’m the eBranch Manager for Alachua County Library District. We are currently redesigning our website and will be migrating to a new content management system in the process. The eBranch includes me (a non-techie librarian) and the ILS Librarian, Chip Halvorsen, who is mainly working with our Sirsi and Aquabrowser systems. Neither of us have HTML experience.
We have made the decision to migrate to Drupal and would love to join this group.

I went to the Drupal camp last weekend. That was a lot of information real fast.
I Just setup my first drupal site and trying to figure out how to get started with theming and content. I want to convert an exisitng PHP & HTML site to teach myself.
The current site is www.jimmckaba.com and as you will see I am not an expert designer. I love music and my friends keep asking me for help promoting.
I could sure use a jumpstart if anyone wants to get together and help me. I am willing to offer a free Pitcher & Wings!
