Happy New Years Bay Area Drupalers!

Let's get this year started with a look at Panels2 - it is considered by some to be the best hope to bring a user friendly UI to page layout in Drupal, it is the secret sauce in group.drupal.org, it is amazing flexible and expandable, and it can also make you crossed eyed just trying to figure out how to set it up. Straight from the ever fertile brain of Earl Miles, Panels2 might forever change the way you think about Drupal, if you can just figure out what it does :)

Ok, hyperbole aside, Panels2 is pretty cool. I will do an overview, and show some of the stuff I have figured out about writing panels plugins, and hopefully we'll have other folk ready to share their tips and show off what they have done with it.

BDUG is the Berkeley Drupal Users Group. This group is open to everyone in the area who is interested in learning, teaching or networking about Drupal. We meet monthly on the UC Berkeley campus.

When: Once a month, over lunchtime, on the 4th Thursday of the month.

Where: 290 Hearst Memorial Mining Building (290 HMMB), on the UC Berkeley Campus

Parking can be a challenge around campus. The closest area to look is around Hearst & Euclid. Also, Hearst Mining is about a 15 minute walk from the downtown Berkeley BART station.
