Greetings Bay Area Drupalers,

Wow, BADCamp was super-successful. Hundreds of people got a chance to meet each other, ask questions, share what they know, build community and contribute to Drupal itself. I hear a bunch of work got done on the DrupalConSF site, and there was a somewhat working version of Views for Drupal 7 by the end of the weekend.

But I am sure some of you still have questions to ask, and tips to share. So come on by this months Berkeley Drupal Users group for our annual after-BADCamp open Q&A.

BADCamp will be held with October 17th and 18th, in the brand new Sutardja Dai Hall at UC Berkeley. BADCamp is a free, community-powered gathering, where we come together to share our experience and enthusiasm about Drupal, an open-source content management system that is powering more and more of the web every year. BADCamp is open to everyone, at any skill level.

Hi everyone,

My company is in the process of choosing a solution for replatforming our main site, which is going to be a pretty big project. We're using Drupal for a smaller, simpler publishing site, and Drupal is now on the table for the main site. Some of the other stakeholders have asked what I think is a perfectly valid question that I don't have a ready answer for, so I'm hoping some of you can help me with this one: Are there any medium- to large-sized businesses using Drupal for their main revenue-producing sites?

We are building out our technology and it is fairly straight forward with Drupal. To help speed the process along as we are learning as we go, we are looking to hire someone for a month or so that can be here in SJ with us in person.

I'd just like to get this discussion started - what do you think that we should do differently, or that we should do better, this time around?
There have been a lot of successful camps from them, and we can certainly borrow some of their ideas.

80% theme customization and 20% new or modified features/modules
PHP/MySQL
Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX (jQuery framework preferred)
Graphic cut-up and optimization using Adobe Photoshop CS3/CS4 or ImageReady CS2
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent projects
Experience developing and debugging cross-browser and cross-platform web interfaces, including mobile devices
Comfortable working independently and as part of a local and/or geographically-distributed team
Solid written and verbal communication skills

We are looking for some Drupal help. Redwood Day School is an East Bay independent, diverse K-8 school that combines challenging academics, small classes, differentiated instruction, and a keen awareness of children's social and emotional development--allowing students to discover and build on their strengths as individual learners.

Last summer Redwood Day moved our website to a Drupal-based system. We are looking for a Drupal expert who communicates clearly, can check the code, clean up the css, and clean up the rough edges of the site. We have some short term needs, as well as long term objectives, and we are looking to build an ongoing consulting relationship.
