Progress from Today
Thanks to everyone who came to help! Folks posted their write-us on the main thread: Web Site in a Weekend thread, but I also wanted to collect our progress in a single compact place.

Spanish PDFs were converted to CSV: http://groups.drupal.org/node/17216#comment-63813
Import scripts began to be written: http://groups.drupal.org/node/17216#comment-63808
Views were fixed: http://groups.drupal.org/node/17216#comment-63814
Modules were added: http://drupal.org/project/views_attach (which is useful and loads the location as a piece of content rather than in a block) and http://drupal.org/project/preserve_language (which is a dev module that promises to set a node's language to the default rather than language neutral. Not sure if we need it.)
When the data import gets finished, we'll be down to the theming and a few more views!
