Hi there :)
I'm just very curious. I really want to use Panels 2 for a project that I am working on, but at the panels-project page @ drupal.org it says "should NOT be run on production sites". When I read this I think "this is not ready at all and I have to find another solution". I have used the 6.x-2.0-alpha3 module since it came out (on a dev site), for my purpose it works very well. I am using the Panel Pages function and printing the nodes with the node override function.
Do you use panels on production sites? Can I use it? even if the project page says NO.

Parts of it work just fine. I try to change my panels as little as possible.

If you're not making
If you're not making changes, it's probably okay. There ARE people using Panels 2 for D6 on production, and as long as they understand that it's a system that is just a little scary to change in-flight, it's probably okay.

Actually I'm going to print a node title at top (with some nodelinks), and some cck field groups on the left and right side. Comments are going in the footer section.
If I start changing the panel layout (add/remove content) things might go where I don't want it to go, It's not my intention to do so :). The layout is pretty simple and straight forward. (I think)
What if I add or remove a cck field from one of the fieldgroups that I'm printing through panels, will this have any effect on the panels module?

P2: What works on it works fine and it's stable. It has no future and will be unpublished when P3 reaches beta, which should be fairly soon.
P3: Is what will be the recommended version once it hits beta. Until then, very unstable.
Earl has said there will be an upgrade path, though he was having trouble with it so I don't know if that's changed.
