Hi-
I live/work in Providence, RI, USA at a company called Schoolyard, and we're readying a site for King's Academy (an internal site) in Amman. We're working with the school to set up their server but are wondering about any good managed hosting options there in Amman. Can anyone give us any suggestions? (our system is based in Drupal 6)
Thanks much,

Thanks for getting in touch
Hi Rashad-
This site is mainly for internal access, so because they have some significant connectivity issues. They initially wanted to host it on campus, but since we're having some issues with the server they've provided I thought I'd check on other local options for hosting physically closer to the school.

GCE (http://www.gce.com.jo/) is IBM dealer in Jordan, if you want to install a physical IBM server. or you can check this company, http://www.jsrhost.com/
Unfortunately the website is in Arabic, you can contact them through this page: http://www.jsrhost.com/contact-us.html
I don't know if they are good. Also you can check this link to lookup more companies for hosting:

Hi Globetrotter!
Thanks for getting in touch. We managed to get the site running on their server yesterday (finally!) but I'd really like to talk with you soon so we can have someone local to the area as a resource. It might not be until next week that we can get in touch but I don't want to miss the chance at developing a new connection!
Cheers,
Jason

Who do you use as a payment processor?
Hi everyone -
Thanks again for all of your suggestions. We've had the new 'intranet' site for King's Academy up and running for a couple of months now and things are going very well. One thing that has come up is a desire for an online store. Since I'm from the US I've generally only worked with Authorize.net and PayPal for payment processors. Have any of you worked with a different provider? I admit I don't even know who will provide service in Jordan - I've never had the chance to visit!
Any ideas or links would be truly appreciated!
Regards,
Jason
(this is with the company Schoolyard - we have a Drupal-based platform for school websites)

For a client of ours (a Jordanian one), we recently implemented the gateway of http://gate2play.com/ with Drupal. The site is not live yet, so no experience to tell yet.

Thanks for the link!
Thanks for the link. Are you using it as a gateway for Ubercart? We've been asked about setting up an online store for them and while we do that often, I'm just not familiar with companies that provide payment services there. This looks worth forwarding to them. Have you had a hard time integrating?
Thanks again - I really appreciate your input.

Jason

No, we didn't use Ubercart in that project, would be too much overhead. One of our guys did the implementation and didn't face too many difficulties.
