I've been using Dreamhost to host my sites for a few years now, lately their quality has gone a bit downhill. Too often my sites are sluggish and slow to respond (if at all)
Can anyone suggest a good, drupal-friendly (clean urls, etc etc) webhost?

Just a Thought Regarding Hosting Opportunity
I know you said that you have already made your choice, so I will make this short.
I have recently made the switch from a shared host to a VPS. I've been on bluehost, AN Hosting, Hostgator and a few others and they all work with drupal but I was having the same problem with sites being sluggish. I am not going to knock these hosts, but i do think there are better solutions out there.
So, my idea is to use my new VPS, (dv) Dedicated Virtual Hosting platform from http://mediatemple.net and not only serve my clients but open it up to other drupal developers to use as partners with my company. I will basically match any AN Hosting's price if you were to switch and you would get VPS Hosting for a Shared price.
Just a thought. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer, but after moving several sites over to our new host I don't want to deal with doing that again.

I hear you there... I'm still moving sites around and getting all the databases, SSL and DNS settings correct. I understand it is a pain.

Matthew, thanks for pointing out that review, it's very informative. The AN Hosting web site doesn't say if it allows ssh access to your site. Do they give you ssh access to the server?
For cheap hosting I've been using A2 hosting, the speed is somewhat mediocre, but is acceptable for shared hosting and the price you pay. You also get ssh and a cpanel control panel.

I dont know why they wouldnt list something like that on their service description, but yea, they offer ssh and cpanel 11.
Something else they didnt mention til I was halfway through signing up is if you pay $1/more per month they'll double your hd space, bandwidth (10tb/month!) and allow you to host up to 40 domains.
