MySpace using activitystrea.ms spec

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Checkout how MySpace has adapted this spec. We can get some idea on how to implement this as they have some example ATOM feeds listed.

I got this from the following Google group thread: http://groups.google.com/group/activity-streams/browse_thread/thread/d86...

that's great stuff. I see from the activitystrea.ms site that this evolving proposed standard is coming from the DiSo project which as you recall comes from Chris Messina who gave that very interesting keynote address at the DC DrupalCon about Our Online Identity

Yup

Exactly how I got hooked up with the Google group and this specification in the first place :D

These guys worked pretty hard to support and implement within Drupal, OpenID - a specification for aggregating activity feeds is the next logical step in that process I think, and the more we can help them out the better methinks.

FriendFeed Integration

I was doing some thinking the other day about activity streams and how FriendFeed does it vs how Activity does it and activitystrea.ms and DiSo craziness and stuff and started thinking that the FriendFeed module should implement hook_activity_info() so that your FriendFeed status starts showing up in your Activity stream.

And then I thought that we should get off of proprietary software and just implement the hook ontop of Activity Stream, and remove all of its other code since Activity rocks my socks. Wheee, coffee required now.

.... After that thinking, I thought we should start posting the Activity updates back to Ping.fm and just recursively spam the internets.

the idea is that other

the idea is that other modules like activity_stream and friendfeed will implement Activity hooks in order to get everything into one place and then be able to feed it all out in the activitystrea.ms format.

I'd like any further integration that other modules want to implement use the 6.2 branch of Activity, but that might not happen as it is still being worked on.
