Hi all, it was great to meet the majority of the Brisbane Drupal community over the weekend in Melbourne.
Unfortunately it's been a while since we've had a meet-up in Brisbane! With the new year I'm looking to change this, but there's two things we need to establish: where and when.
Previous meetups have been at Irish Murphys in the city. Whilst not a bad location it can be a bit loud at times. At this stage however I think having our first meet-up for the year there would be a good idea since it is central to brisbane. We could then discuss whether we do subsequent meetings there, or if there are more suitable alternative locations.
In terms of date/time I'd like to propose Wednesday the 1st of Febuary 6:30pm.
Please post below any feedback on the above proposed time/location - these are by no means set in stone, just providing to have a starting point for discussion. If all feedback is positive for the proposed meet-up I'll setup an official event over the weekend.

I really should get myself back to either this or the Gold Coast meet-up - I'm literally halfway between both and not an evening person!!! grrr.....
Anyway I'd be inclined to come to the first one so yes, I'd be free!

I'm pretty easy going on the date but do we have a meetup place in mind? I go to JS and Ruby meetups at the Toowong library which has the added advantages of free parking and being close to food. That setup would really work best if some people could present though....

Toowong Library vs City
I also would prefer Toowong Library as it is near free parking. Also on a bus and train route. I can make the City if needed, i just have to remember to take the bus to work on that day.

2nd tuesdays are our traditional dates
the city is more central to those north and east of the city - toowong is an extra 20 minutes southwest of city for those on north side
the brisbane meetups are normally the 2nd tuesday of each month - which would make it the 14th of Feb
i cant do 1st feb or wednesdays either

Living South-East I'll second that Toowong is a difficult location just due to bridges/river. That said the city is often difficult for parking so I'll be in attendance regardless.
I'm happy to stick with the original schedule of 2nd Tuesday each month if preferable - does anyone have issues with Tuesdays or the 14th of Feb?

There is a meetup (almost) every month on the second tuesday at the Irish Murphies in CBD (meetup at 7pm, catch-up/dinner at 6pm).
spyjournal and taslett have usually been kind to organize it for us.
I would also like to stay with the current arrangement/location.

I think it we set it in for 14th of Feb (Tuesday) as per the original schedule we can discuss if we continue like that going forward and also ideas for attracting more of the Brisbane Drupal community.
Let me know if anyone has major concerns with the above date otherwise I'll put together a proper sign up :)

Based off peoples various suggestions both city and library (with parking nearby) seem to be pretty popular.
How about the State library of Queensland? Believe they have meeting rooms for up to 14 people free and parking's a bit better than the city overall.
Pro over Irish Murphys: Easier to discuss/present
Cons: No Food/Drinks
Better to stay with Tue for now
I agree it's better to stay with Tuesdays for now, since this seemed to suit more people in the past. I'd prefer the library but can do either location.

I've kept the venue at Irish Murphys since that was the original location and is central for everyone. That said I think the key discussion item for the meet-up is working out the best place for events to be held going forward as there's definately a lot of people keen on other locations.
