Hello all,
Drupal already has its own statistic system that grabs the number of installation that uses a determined module (here you can see an example: http://drupal.org/project/usage/blocks404).
There's more we can do to make statistics useful. It could be useful to understand the number of users are using a determined feature inside a module, and how are they using this.

Examples:

1- Into our module we have a feature called "takethebus?", we are not sure that it's useful and we're using as default the value "missed". Loooking at the new statistic page the developer could see that 99% of installations have users that set this value as "taked". So the developer could set as default the other value, improving usability.

2- Into our module we have a feature called "howareyou". It's a radio button and we are not sure that it's useful.
Loooking at the new statistic page the developer could see that 100% of installations have not set a value for that field. So the developer could remove that feature, as it's unuseful.

This project consists in writing the code to make drupal reports the values and to write the code for the statistics page.
