Hi TriDUGers,
for those of you that missed the Durham meetup, I have officially announced my retirement as a TriDUG organizer. This month's meetup was my last as an official organizer of the group. Both Greg and Jason have done a fantastic job over the last six months coming up with new ideas and in general breathing life into the group and I feel like TriDUG is in excellent hands going forward.
In Other News, I've been approached by some members requesting training on Views, Webform, and other commonly used contrib modules. I would be happy to put together some training material if someone in the group can come up with a weekend venue that's got space for 4-6 participants. Access to a projector is a nice-to-have but not absolutely required as I have access to an InFocus machine if needed.
If anyone is interested in participating in a workshop on Views and/or Webform please let me know as soon as possible as I plan on putting together a class within the next two weeks.

Thank you for your work as organizer
Allen,
Thank you for your good work as organizer. You and Julia, in particular, got this group off to a great start. We can depend on the group for learning, making connections and good, friendly help when we need it. Thank you!

Thanks Allen
You did a great job as organizer for the group, I know Greg and Jason will be sorry to lose you.
I would definitely be interested in classes on Views & Webform! Thanks for the offer. It might be possible to get a meeting space here at the Museum, but I'd have to get my boss to run it through the management team, so I couldn't give you an answer until after their next meeting, which I think is either this or next Monday. Let me know if you want me to pursue that option.
Nik
Hi Nik!
Long time no see! If you can line up a meeting room at the museum that would be fantastic. We shouldn't need much besides somewhere to sit, wifi and a projector.
Yeah, it's been a while!
I asked our leasing coordinator and she said the A-level meeting room is usually free on Sundays. I just need to run it by the management team meeting on Monday. I'll let you know, but I think it won't be a problem.
We're good to go
The Powers That Be approved our use of the space for any day the room isn't being leased; right now that leaves Feb. 19 & 26 (Sundays) this month; would one of those dates work for you? Or should I check on March dates?
19th sounds good
Why don't we go ahead and schedule for the 19th?
Ok
The room is available during opening hours, from noon to 5pm. I'd suggest starting at 12:30 to give you a chance to set up & allow for any delays. Does that sound ok?
Yep
That sounds ok to me. 4 straight hours of site configuration is about all anyone can stand. Let me know when it's ok to add this to the group calendar.
Agreed!
We don't need to use up the whole time, but that's how long the room is available. We could just do three hours and then send the class to explore the Museum if you like! It's all arranged, so go ahead and add it to the calendar any time. Btw, I know there's a projector, but I would need to check out a Mac adapter if you need one-- it's a standard VGA connection.
Views & Webforms
I live in Greensboro and I've only made it to 1 regular meeting (back in October), bit I'd like to attend this if you have room and don't have to turn anyone else away.
Meetup's on the calendar
I've posted this event on meetup.com. Space is limited so if you plan on attending you will need to RSVP. Attendees should have a laptop and access to a Drupal test site they can tinker on.

Parking?
Where would be the best place to park on a Sunday afternoon near the museum?
Good question
Unfortunately I don't have a good answer for this one. I typically circle the block a couple times then get irritated and park a few blocks away. YMMV.
Same MO
That is likely my same MO. I was hoping museumwebbie or someone from Raleigh might have some insight. There are meters along the street, but not sure if they are coin or card operated or checked on the weekends. I guess it is catch as catch can.
parking
Parking is free on the weekends at street-side meters unless otherwise posted. There is a pretty big surface parking lot east of the museum that should be open. It's at Wilmington and Edenton Streets. The museum is one block over from that lot. (And you might have to fight for parking with the church crowd too)
Jason
Correct
The large surface lot is open & free on weekends; there are entrances on Jones & Edenton streets. There is also a new above-ground lot a block west of the Museum on Edenton street if that one is full, but I doubt it will be. You can get the downtown map here: http://naturalsciences.org/files/documents/NCMNS_Directions_and_Parking_....
To get to the meeting room, when you enter the Museum go through the first set of glass doors only and take a left, and take the elevator down to Level A. Take a left and the meeting room will be immediately on your right. I'll post signs when I get in on Sunday.
Thanks Allen
I would be interested as well in taking the classes..
Best of luck on your present and future endeavors.
Thank you Allen
Thank you for your efforts as an organizer. Every TriDUG meeting I attended over the past 1.5 years I always learned something new. I especially appreciated your feedback during my site review a couple weeks ago. I definitely picked up a lot of good information.
I would be interested in sessions on Views and Webform.
FOSS Fair | Don't let the door hit you...
...when you come into the next meetup :)
Allen,
Just wanted to say thanks for all your work you out into and continue to invest in TriDUG. It's a great group of folks here and I know we'll still see you around at future meetups and events.
Speaking of which, are you still planning on going to the NC State FOSS Fair on Feb 18? I guess that's a question for you and an FYI for everyone who hasn't heard about it:

For a head count
I concur with all the thanks for your years of dedicated leadership. My Drupal experience has certainly been enriched.
Count me in as a participant for the views and webform workshop.
Don't be a stranger!
Hey Allen,
Just echoing all the others... thanks for the all the work you put into keeping the group going after Julia had a baby and Sheena headed for the mountains. Not sure I should thank you for twisting my ar...err.. encouraging me to help out...lol... just kidding.
I hope you can continue to show up to some of the meetings and be the Coordinator Emeritus... i.e., point out what we're doing wrong...lol
Thanks again.
Greg
Thank you!
