If anyone is interested in setting up a multisite development environment on his or her local Windows development machine, I'd be happy to show that.

Best way to go from Photoshop to Drupal theme?

I just added this to the agenda. I have been working on a project which is a nightmare because of this work flow:

A. Photoshop design - supplied by others.
B. Detailed (very detailed) HTML and CSS files - supplied by others.
C. Take "B" and apply to the Drupal site - endless work.

Going from B to C has been endless work. Trying to apply styles provided to me in template files that have different HTML, classes and ids to the Drupal site. To make it worse, changes come along in the middle of it.

It would be way better to do this:

A. Photoshop design
B. Create the Drupal site with some base theme - maybe Zen or whatever
C. Then style that theme.

I have taken page HTML layouts before and converted then to themes. I think the maybe the problem with this one is the extreme level of detail on styling all the page elements.

Have any of you run into this? What's the answer? We can discuss at meeting.

Cool, I've got a lot of good

Cool, I've got a lot of good methods I can share for either method, going from psd, or from html/css... sometimes html/css is a lot easier, but it depends

In a situation like that, I

In a situation like that, I template override every. single. html. output.

Themeing - so very important - so misunderstood

Theme mods have always frightened me to to death because it can be such a black hole. Although, I have met many graphics people that have asked me to tell them what framework would be best for them to deliver their artwork to be used. I don't even have a good answer for this!

I've one site where a theme mod (by me) has resulted in an issue that I have yet to figure out how to reverse. I've probably put 40 hours into that problem alone - it's driving me nuts!

So, all that said, I'd love to be a part of this discussion and am standing by for a green light on the 12th.

Ciao!

I'm sure last nights meeting went well. I didn't get out of work until 5:30 and take about 1 3/4 hours for me to get there.

I'm bumming I missed it. I need to find a group like this North of Boston.

North

We had a Drupal meetup in Saugus last month (http://groups.drupal.org/node/21123).

I have yet to see anything about the next one.

Not expressing a reduction in my sincere enthusiasm for Drupal, I confess I'm a bit reluctant to propose a new event in the near term since I'm hooked on watching the Bruins and Celtics playoffs, already finding conflicts (e.g. Bruins game 7 during Providence meetup tomorrow). :-)
